Send the kids off to pick some grapes at harvest time

We have the pleasure of staying in Albugnano in North Italy near Torino with our friend Paola and her partner Sergio. Their verandah looks out over the hills and valley's and has a vineyard right nextdoor. I asked Paola if we could go down and ask the workers if it was ok for us to help pick the grapes for harvest. So we went for a walk down to the vineyard and found the pickers. We told them that the children wanted to help pick the grapes. They said of course they could, just to be careful to not cut their fingers. They were cutting the grapes for the red wine they produce. This activity kept our children busy for hours and they learned something new. Our children also helped the workers with some english words.
The owner of the vineyard asked us if we would like to meet him at the cantina Alle Tre Colline in Albugnano Town to try some wines he produces. We accepted with pleasure, for more on this story please head over to http://www.florencebound.blogspot.com/
